What gets measured gets managed.

Halto tracks your practice so you can see your progress, identify patterns, and stay motivated. This guide explains what's tracked and how to use it effectively.

What Halto Tracks

Session Data

Every completed session records:

  • Date and time — when you practiced
  • Level used — which level you chose
  • Duration — how long the session lasted
  • Completion — whether you finished or exited early

Cumulative Stats

Over time, Halto tracks:

  • Total XP — your lifetime experience points
  • Total sessions — how many sessions completed
  • Current streak — consecutive days of practice
  • Longest streak — your record

Energy Points

Energy is a secondary metric:

  • Earned per completed session/group
  • Represents accumulated practice investment
  • Visible in your profile

Finding Your Stats

Profile Tab

Your main stats dashboard. Here you'll find:

Level Display

  • Current level
  • XP progress to next milestone
  • Visual progress indicator

Streak Counter

  • Current streak (days)
  • Longest streak achieved
  • Last practice date

Total Stats

  • Lifetime XP
  • Total sessions
  • Energy accumulated

Session History

View your recent sessions:

  • Date and time of each session
  • Level practiced
  • Session outcome

Understanding XP

What XP Represents

XP (Experience Points) measures your cumulative practice:

  • More XP = more practice time invested
  • Earned by completing sessions
  • Higher levels may award more XP

XP Isn't Everything

XP doesn't measure:

  • Quality of practice
  • Relaxation during sessions
  • Real-world urge control improvement
  • Whether you actually needed the session

Use XP as motivation, not the sole measure of progress.

The Streak System

How Streaks Work

Current Streak: Consecutive days with at least one completed session.

  • Complete a session today = streak continues
  • Miss a day = streak resets to zero
  • One session per day is enough

Streak Psychology

Streaks are double-edged:

Positive:

  • Motivation to practice daily
  • Visual reinforcement of consistency
  • Gamification of good habits

Caution:

  • Don't let streak anxiety cause stress
  • A broken streak isn't failure
  • Consistency matters more than any single streak

If Your Streak Breaks

  1. Don't panic — streaks break, it's normal
  2. Start again immediately — new streak begins today
  3. Reflect — what caused the miss?
  4. Adjust — can you prevent future misses?
  5. Remember — your progress isn't erased, just the streak counter

Using Data Effectively

Pattern Recognition

Look at your session history for patterns:

When do you practice?

  • Morning, afternoon, or evening?
  • Is there a consistent time?
  • Do you practice more on certain days?

What levels do you use?

  • Consistently at one level?
  • Progressing over time?
  • Dropping levels on certain days?

What do you notice?

  • Days you skip practice = days you struggle?
  • Higher levels on good days?
  • usage patterns?

Setting Goals

Use your data to set realistic goals:

Daily goal: One session per day (streak maintenance) Weekly goal: 7 sessions, try to level up Monthly goal: Consistent practice, new level milestone

Progress Indicators

Signs you're progressing:

  • Higher levels feel easier
  • Sessions completed more easily
  • Less need for SOS
  • Better real-world urge control
  • Longer streaks naturally

PRO Analytics

PRO subscribers get additional insights:

Enhanced Stats

  • More detailed session breakdowns
  • Longer history retention
  • Additional visualizations

Advanced Patterns

  • Time-of-day analysis
  • Level progression charts
  • Trend identification

Compare Yourself

PRO analytics help you compare:

  • This week vs. last week
  • This month vs. last month
  • Current level vs. starting point

What Stats Don't Show

Real Progress

The most important metrics aren't in the app:

  • Days without relapse — track separately
  • Urge intensity over time — journal this
  • Quality of life improvements — notice these
  • Relationship improvements — pay attention
  • Mental clarity — self-assess

The Intangibles

Stats can't capture:

  • How much easier urges feel to handle
  • Confidence in your ability to cope
  • Changes in your relationship with technology
  • Overall life satisfaction

Recommendation: Keep a separate journal for these intangibles.

Common Questions

"My streak broke. Am I back to zero?"

Your streak counter resets. Your progress doesn't.

All the practice you've done, capacity you've built, and neural pathways you've strengthened remain. The streak is just a number.

"How much should I practice?"

Minimum: Once per day (for consistency) Better: Once per day + whenever you have an urge No maximum: More practice = more progress

"Why didn't I get XP for a session?"

Possible reasons:

  • Session wasn't completed
  • App glitch (rare)
  • Check session history for recording

"My stats seem wrong"

Try:

  • Close and reopen the app
  • Check if sessions are recording
  • Contact support if issues persist

"Can I export my data?"

Check current app version for export options. Data privacy means your data stays on your device by default.

A Healthy Relationship with Stats

Stats Are Tools

Use them to:

  • Track consistency
  • Notice progress
  • Identify patterns
  • Stay motivated

Stats Aren't the Goal

The goal is:

  • Better urge control
  • Improved quality of life
  • Freedom from compulsion
  • The life you want

Stats support these goals—they don't replace them.

Balance

Too little attention to stats: Miss patterns, lose motivation Too much attention to stats: Gamification addiction, missing the point

Find the balance that serves your recovery.

Action Items

  1. Check your current stats — know where you stand
  2. Note your streak — aim to maintain or rebuild
  3. Review session history — any patterns?
  4. Set a simple goal — one session per day
  5. Track intangibles separately — journal your non-app progress

Your stats tell part of the story. You're writing the rest.
